She speaks to groups around the world encouraging listeners to find the peace that comes from remembering your profoundly personal relationship with God, and to every other person on the planet. To access the power of the atonement every day, and discover the power you have to change the world when you choose to release all that is amazing about you into the world.

Kathy is married to Phillip Miner, she is the mother of 5, stepmother of 2, and grandmother of 7.  She began involving her family from the time they were very small in adventures and activities serving in their own community and around the world, including projects in Taiwan, Romania, Mexico, Guatemala, Haiti, Bolivia, India, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Indonesia, Congo, Zambia and Zimbabwe - which led to her founding Mothers Without Borders in 1992.

Profesionally, Kathy continues the work of Mothers Without Borders whose mission is to nurture and care for orphaned and vulnerable children, and create a community of love and caring with all who are like-minded. Her work keeps her in Zambia about 6 months of the year.  At home in Utah you will find her riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle, sleeping, reading, watching re-runs of the Mentalist wherever she can find them, mentoring the 12-year old Sunday School class and teaching at BYU Education Week each August.

 Phillip W. Miner

“Finding Your Path to Continued Conversion”

Phillip’s conversion story started in Africa, as he posed for artist Liz Lemon Swindle’s painting “The Worth of a Soul,” which featured the Savior and a small orphan boy, and continues today through every adventure and challenge and grace. His voice is soft, his heart is softer, so listen carefully and you may find a kindred spirit in your journey to get on and stay on the path to discipleship through life’s many and varied challenges. Phillip is married to Kathy Headlee-Miner. He is the father of two teenage sons, stepfather to four daughters and one son, and grandfather to 7 very lucky kids.

Professionally he spends his time as a wilderness adventure guide for at risk teenagers, encouraging them to overcome personal challenges by discovering their strengths through such activities as rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, rappelling, and canoeing.

When not “out on the trail” with those pesky teens, he splits his time between riding motorcycles, which he’d love to do ALL the time, following his wife to Africa to build homes, orphanages and schools, teaching the 12 year old Sunday School class in his Provo ward.

Bryan Thomas

“Pure Doctrine for Pure Minds”

Sharing and defending the Gospel with our friends, loved ones and acquaintences:  In a world that declares LDS beliefs to not be Christian, this workshop will explore the power and evidence of the Restoration’s doctrine - how to crystalize it and be confident in its consistency with the scriptures, and to incorporate it in your worship, and in your conversations with those who don’t understand the Gospel’s truth claims or who have been biased by the precepts of men.

Bryan J. Thomas has served in various church capacities (including bishop and stake presidency) but finds his greatest fulfillment in ministering as a priesthood holder. In his secular life, Bryan is a marketing professional of more than 30 years, having built three successful advertising/marketing firms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree from Brigham Young University. He was most recently president of the Denver office of Gyro, a global marketing agency. When he is not building brands, Bryan is tracking down some obscure book on ancient Near Eastern religion or researching early Latter-Day Saint church history. He has published in the FARMS Review and is an ardent student of the ancient Hebrew temple and ascension motif. He has found wisdom and understanding (Prov 3:13-18) in his own “tree of life,” his wife, who tolerates his fetish for a good book, and has been abundantly blessed by his five children and six grandchildren.
